This compilation features international metal artists gathered by DRUDKH mastermind Roman Sayenko. All participating bands are expressively linked in their artistic output to the culture and history of their countries of origin. Therefore they represent eight regions of modern Europe and yet find common ground in the different musical traditions they explore. Each artist employs their own means to find and present their roots to the world. You will discover interpretations of traditional songs, cover versions of folk artists or the use of themes and melodies from their musical heritage in original compositions. “The idea behind this compilation is a coming together of like-minded artists from all across Europe in an attempt to rediscover the history and traditions of their respective areas of origin; through the medium of traditional music”, explains Chris Naughton of WINTERFYLLETH. “This compilation brings together eight artists, who have a strong historical interest and a pre-existing link to the music of their respective homelands.”
MISERY INDEX return with a fury worthy of the title of their new album, “The Killing Gods”. With their fifth full-length, the American icons of hard-hitting brutality display the strength of maturity grown out of the experience gained as a relentless touring machine. The general trend of their continuous evolution to incorporate less core elements and move towards classic death metal finds a new high water mark with “The Killing Gods”. Now brace yourselves, hold tight and duck for cover, for the wrath of the gods is upon us!
Vancouver’s ARCHSPIRE unleash an insane attack of blistering technical death metal on ‘The Lucid Collective’; their first full-length for Season of Mist. Guitars shred with fury, and vicious vocals swarm over whirlwind drum work in the band’s potent display of 21st century extremity. More than just a collection of chops and blast beasts, ‘The Lucid Collective’s eight tracks showcase a fast-rising band with supreme mastery of dynamics going hand in hand with their aggression. ‘The Lucid Collective’ is a definitive statement of intent by one of death metal’s most exciting new bands.
